1. Appropriate Charging Environment and Timing
Choose the appropriate charging environment and timing. When the battery is charging, its temperature will rise by about 10℃. The ideal operating temperature for the battery is 30℃. Because if the temperature is too high, the chemical reactions inside the battery intensify, which will accelerate the corrosion of the plates and shorten the battery's lifespan. Therefore, this point should be noted. When charging the forklift battery, a cool and well-ventilated environment should be selected.
The maximum operating temperature of the battery is 55℃. If the battery temperature is found to be above 45℃ before charging, it is necessary to wait for the battery to cool down before proceeding with the charging process.
II. Charger Selection
Choosing the right charger is to keep the battery in a healthier condition and achieve better performance. The cables, plugs, rated voltage, rated current, charging curve and settings of the battery and the charger need to be fully compatible.
It is recommended to choose a charger with automatic temperature compensation. During the summer when the battery temperature is high, chargers without temperature compensation will cause the battery to overcharge during charging, which will affect the battery performance and lifespan. The high-frequency charger has a higher efficiency, is more gentle on the battery, and the charging current always meets the requirements. Some high-frequency chargers also adopt modular power design, further enhancing the efficiency.
